Short and to the Point

Old Saint Nick

Old Saint Nick

I have read and been told repeatedly that my posts are usually too long. At least they are too long for a good blog. Good bloggers post short easy to read pieces. We are that kind of a society now. Of course I am not really trying to write a good blog. I am just trying to improve my writing.

The good news is that my most recent posts have been shorter. The bad news is that they will probably be that way for awhile. I fell on the icy back steps of my house the evening of the 23th and strained my wrist and hand and maybe my arm. I don’t know for sure but it has swelled up and is black and blue and hurts some.

Not to worry. I had already picked up the kids at the airport so they are here safe and sound. The other good news is that I have the best wife in the world who is taking very good care of me.

My posts will be shorter for at least a little while as I get healed up but I am already feeling better and am able, obviously, to pick out this short one.

I will end on this note. Thank God for all I have and for the fact that this injury was not worse and as always….Merry Christmas.

Oh yeah… Happy 27th Wedding Anniversary My Love.

    Hi Bob,
I don’t think your posts are too long…unless you are writing for gnats…I have heard they have a very short attention span. Having a hurt wrist is a reason to type less, but I enjoy your long musings.

So, I wanted to write in my latest umami experience: roasted root veggies in cream. Kinda like scalloped potatoes, but made with sliced yams, parsnips, leeks and potatoes. And lots, lots, lots of cream. Yum. The flavors were wonderful, the mouthfeel beyond compare and it was probably also good for you, too. I am already bugging my neighbor for the recipe, but I don’t think there is much to it. Now all I need to do shake off the rest of this little bit of flu I caught from my husband. If mine lasts as long as his did, then I’ll be fine tomorrow.
    Happy new year!
    ~~Melinda
